Pan's Labyrinth
symbolism
Many parts of the movie had foreshadowing and symbolism to which the movie had little back stories on. One thing is the watch in which the Caption had took from Ofelia's dead father. When soldiers died they would smash the watch to record when they died to let their family know. In the movie the Caption, Ofelia's step-father, had taken the watch and fixed to try and erase any information and memory of Ofelia's father. Taking the watch and fixing it foreshadowed that he was going to die with the same watch and would hope his son would know about him. The Caption would periodically be looking at the watch as though his time was limited and he was trying to do what he needs to do before his time is up. Then there is the time in the movie where Ofelia's second task is timed and she must finish what needs to be done before the hourglass runs out of time.

This movie kept me entertain throughout the whole movie, the only part is that is wish I knew Spanish to not have to have subtitles and not have to read the movie and pay more attention to what was going on all around the screen. This movie was very good 9/10
